Spiritual Development
Individuals and families are encouraged to develop a high standard of christian character, as well as a value system that will help navigate life’s daily responsibilities and find comfort during times of unexpected difficulties. Periodically, small informal groups discuss family concerns, health issues, and relevant subjects in a friendly environment. Harvestview Christian Fellowship is a ministry of the Salvation Army of Centre County, developed to support the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of families and individuals in the community.

Today in America, roughly two out of every five children are poor or "near poor." Many of these children live in unsafe housing, often without enough food to eat and without decent clothing. They are far more likely to suffer neglect and abuse. What these children need is hope! For this reason, the Salvation Army offers faith-based programs of intervention and prevention integrated into a community of caring people. Although it is not just for Sunday, "SONday’SCOOL" material, developed by the Salvation Army’s USA Eastern Territory, is often used to bring new hope, in addition to educational field trips and other programs. Children are encouraged to build a living relationship with the Lord Jesus, for a life-time of hope!
